Mesa seeks an experienced Project Controls Specialist who will work under the direct supervision of the division project managers and director to support project execution, tracking, and records keeping. Within the team environment the successful candidate will assist in scheduling updating and tracking of costs in relation to trending of project performance indicators. Additionally, this position will assist in preparation and arranging project meetings, interface with client administrative and access personnel to ensure training requirements and personnel access is in place to support the project team while meeting commercial nuclear security. Maintaining the project action item tracker, assisting in preparation of project deliverables, and handling of documents across multiple nuclear projects for various nuclear utilities at the direction of the project manager. Experience with using business development and project management platforms such as: Coessential, Microsoft Projects, Primavera, etc. is desirable.
Typical duties and assignments may include technical administrative duties to support the division Director, Project Managers, and Engineering staff through tracking and processing client access requests, interfacing with client administration, training, and access personnel, providing status of upcoming client based training required to maintain access, administrative support for review and processing of design deliverables into client records, assisting in the administrative changes to drawings and other technical documents, and assisting with processing of internal quality records for each project. This position will be delegated to be the primary point of contact with our customers in areas related to training, electronic access, physical access, and document processing to ensure Mesa meets customer expectations in these areas. Within the technical administration duties access to and control of client sensitive material and commercial nuclear design is required. The successful execution of our contracted engineering designs and construction projects relies on maintaining trained and qualified individuals that understand and meet commercial nuclear industry expectations. This will involve interfacing with multiple commercial nuclear plants and may require access (electronic and/or physical).
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma.
- Coursework or certifications in technical areas is a plus (such as: CAD, Microsoft Suite, Project Management Applications, etc.)
- Experience with nuclear records and engineering applications required (such as: MAXIMO, ECM, LMS, CMIS, PAT/FFD, etc.)
- Position requires excellent organizational and communication skills and ability to interface with internal and external team members.
- 8 years’ experience in working with records and access for commercial nuclear plants.
- Experience working with multiple nuclear utilities is a plus.
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to operational and construction nuclear plants and sites.
- Position Location: Knoxville TN (relocation not provided)
- Position Type: Hybrid Remote – Requires work from office but can be hybrid with at least three days in office at either the Knoxville or Chattanooga locations; may require some travel to plant sites (Less Than 8 days per month).
