Job Summary
Mesa Field Services is a small established firm that conducts archaeological inventory projects across the western United States. We are seeking Archaeological Field Technicians to serve on a crew for a large block inventory project southeast of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fieldwork is expected to last two months. We will be conducting 8-day field sessions with a ten-hour work day. Drive time to and from location is including in hourly rate. Hotel and $ 50 a day per diem included in addition to hourly wage of $27 to $30 based on experience. A field school and or 12 months of field experience is required. Must have experience working with and a familiarity with prehistoric and historic artifacts of the Southwest.
Employment Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology and one (1) year of experience in archaeology survey, and/or reporting in New Mexico or adjoining states.
* Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, tablets, total station, etc.) and GIS applications
* Will be required to walk long distances, and perform physically demanding tasks in varying environments and conditions (i.e. steep terrain, heat, cold)
* To meet at the field location or accommodations in Belen or Vaughn, New Mexico.
* Please provide three relevant and recent references.
