Base Rate:
$19.19
Performance Pay:
Available annually
New hire experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of
verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the
requirement, up to a five-year maximum
New hire education:
1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or
higher degree if not required for the position

B21, 9.25 months

OVERVIEW
To plan, implement and supervise age-appropriate activities for elementary school age children that will support their physical, social, language and emotional development.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School education
- Minimum two years experience working with groups of elementary students preferred
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification preferred
- Computer proficiency to include basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc)
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with students, staff and parents
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with students, staff and parents; maintain confidentiality
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, implement and supervise age appropriate activities for elementary school age children to support their physical, social, language and emotional development
- Assist in the planning, coordinating, and implementation of special events and activities designed to promote the Healthy and Active school model
- Serve as a positive role model for the health and active school program
- Provide and maintain a safe environment and appropriate safety instruction; and make periodic safety checks of equipment and field areas
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere
- Relate positively to parents, staff and students
- Maintain playground activity board with current games and activities
- Monitor school announcements to promote a health and active school environment
- Assist classroom teachers with activity break ideas
- Assist in monitoring student input of activity data into school computers
- Maintain and monitor appropriate use and storage of equipment and materials
- Compile and distribute healthy and active information and materials to staff and community
- Attend school and/or district based training sessions
- Perform other duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
- Regular and on-time attendance required
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
