New Hire Experience:

Job Summary:
To provide an in-depth understanding of the functionality and design of the district’s student information applications; to authorize and execute test plans for new releases; to facilitate district-wide processing initiatives; and to ensure the integrity of information reported to the state (SAIS) and other outside agencies.
Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the integrity of student information within Synergy’s Student Information System (SIS)
- Customize SIS modules to accommodate data needs through the coding and programming of new fields, screens, queries, and reports
- Analyze and evaluate ongoing functionality of SIS through testing, research, diagnosis; document and report software bugs, enhancement requirements, and other issues
- Maintain expertise of SIS applications as the specialist for programmers and end-users
- Document and report system-related issues to vendor to improve product quality and ease of use
- Perform testing and verification of software prior to release of student information applications
- Coordinate with development team to ensure that all enhancements are successfully implemented
- Verify fixes provided by developers and perform appropriate regression testing
- Ensure documentation is maintained and updated for all systems
- Facilitate district-wide processing initiatives related to student information systems
- Develop student information standards and conduct regular data integrity reviews to ensure compliance with state reporting standards
- Assist with the analysis, design and integration of new technology solutions
- Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
Education:
- Degree in computer science or three years of professional experience in a complex computer network environment
- Experience with SIS, Genesis, or another student information system, as well as district recordkeeping standards and state reporting guidelines
