Derrickman

Job Summary
The Derrickman plays a crucial role in the drilling operations of an oil rig. This position involves working at heights and requires a strong understanding of drilling equipment and safety protocols. The Derrickman is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the derrick, ensuring that all drilling activities are conducted safely and efficiently. This role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Must have experience working Dereks on work rigs with rods and tubing.
• Must have experience laying down tubing and laying down rods.
• Must have experience running pumps, gauging tanks, and running catwalk and/or pipe wrangler
• Must be able to run a forklift.
• Operate and maintain derrick equipment, including hoisting systems and mud pumps.
• Assist in the assembly and disassembly of drilling rigs.
• Monitor drilling fluid levels and make adjustments as necessary.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify any issues or required maintenance.
• Collaborate with other crew members to ensure efficient drilling operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
