Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of all production equipment and machinery at Red River Potatoes. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and extensive experience with belt conveyors, augers, and other industrial equipment, including commercial dehydrators, pellet mills, and feed milling equipment. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment, including belt conveyors, augers, commercial dehydrators, pellet mills, and other feed milling equipment.
- Inspect machinery and systems to identify and resolve potential mechanical issues proactively.
- Conduct equipment installations, adjustments, and calibrations as required.
- Monitor equipment performance to ensure efficient operation and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records for all performed tasks and repairs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
- Collaborate with the Production and Quality Control teams to minimize downtime and resolve equipment-related issues.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Keep an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
- Train team members on proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school training in industrial maintenance or mechanics is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with extensive experience working with belt conveyors, augers, commercial dehydrators, pellet mills, and other feed milling equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing motors, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
