Responsibilities:
- Adhere and promote company SAFETY measures at all times
- SAFELY operate equipment (backhoe, trencher, mini-excavator, auger, and forklift)
- Load and unload equipment and materials
- Prepare construction site and clean up when job is completed
- Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, tampers, and rakes
- SAFELY drive trucks and pull trailers with equipment and materials to construction sites
- Perform routine/preventative maintenance and inspection on equipment
- Help clean and organize trucks and warehouse areas
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience in excavating equipment operation
- Must be able to pass a DOT drug test and obtain a Medical Examiner Certificate
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather and may be exposed to extremes of climate and temperatures
- This position requires significant travel and will require you to be gone typically 3-4 weeks at a time (daily per diem while traveling)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient operation of construction / excavating equipment in the corrosion control, pipeline construction, or utilities industry.
- TWIC card
- Class A CDL
Other Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, such as trenches, pits, and manholes
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps and ladders regularly
- Sitting, standing, walking, or driving for long periods of time (1-3 hours)
- Must be able to see, hear, and respond quickly to dangerous situations
- Primarily working outdoors, including extreme weather conditions
- Working around moving machinery, vehicles, and heavy equipment
- Wearing personal protective gear most of the day (safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, safety vest, FRCs)
Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. If you have questions, please speak to your recruiter about the flexibility and detail of our compensation philosophy. For this role, we anticipate paying $23 - $28 or more per hour.
