As a Technician Assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to work side-by-side with our experienced technical team to learn multiple survey and testing techniques. The Technician Assistant will assist with CIS, DCVG, ACVG and other surveys as needed. The Technician Assistant will conduct testing including, but not limited to, structure-to-soil potential, soil, resistance and current requirement. This position will also correctly and safely operate test equipment including pipe and/or cable locaters, high input impedance digital multi-meters, clamp-on ammeters, electrical isolation inspection meters, and various hand and power tools. This position requires significant travel and will require you to be gone for up to 4-5 weeks at a time.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Position requires a person who is technically oriented and willing to learn
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Willingness to work outside and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for insurability
- Must be able to travel regularly up to two weeks at a time
- Must be able to work outdoors and be able to walk for long distances on uneven terrain
- This is a SAFETY-sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment and random DOT drug testing
Preferred Qualifications:
- CP1 certification or equivalent work experience
- TWIC card
- Minimum of six months of corrosion related experience is preferred
Other Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, such as trenches, pits, and manholes
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps and ladders regularly
- Sitting, standing, walking, or driving for long periods of time (1-3 hours)
- Must be able to see, hear, and respond quickly to dangerous situations
- Primarily working outdoors, including extreme weather conditions
- Working around moving machinery, vehicles, and heavy equipment
- Wearing personal protective gear most of the day (safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, safety vest, FRCs)
Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
