Shipping and Receiving Clerk
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the shipping and receiving processes, ensuring that all goods are accurately tracked, documented, and delivered in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving Shipments: Inspect, receive, and document incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy and quantity of items received against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Shipping Orders: Prepare outgoing shipments by packing products, labeling boxes, and completing necessary shipping documentation, including shipping labels and customs forms if applicable.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, track stock movements, and assist with periodic inventory counts to ensure stock accuracy.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks on received and shipped items to ensure they meet company standards and specifications before delivery.
- Data Entry: Record shipping and receiving data in the company’s inventory management system, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
- Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with logistics providers to schedule pickups and confirm delivery timelines.
- Customer Service: Address any shipping discrepancies or customer inquiries related to shipments and deliveries in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the shipping and receiving area organized, clean, and safe, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Additional Tasks: Assist with other warehouse tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support overall operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or a related field.
- Familiarity with shipping software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy packages and operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
