As a member of this team, you will work collaboratively with our fixed income sales and trading, real estate and public finance teams in order to structure debt with optimal financing terms. Responsibilities:
- Underwrite and analyze commercial real estate debt transactions with an emphasis on single-tenant properties lease backed to investment grade corporate and municipal counterparties
- Perform credit analysis of corporate and municipal entities
- Review transaction operative agreements (i.e. lease agreements)
- Draft offering memorandums, pitch books, term sheets, internal memos and other communications with clients and investors.
- Manage transaction closing process, including interfacing with investors, issuers, legal counsel, rating agency, and other third parties
- Prepare pitch books and marketing material for both institutional bond investors as well as potential borrowers.
- Research and monitor trends in real estate and debt capital markets
Requirements:
- Bachelors in relevant coursework
- Minimum of 2-3 years within the financial industry (commercial real estate financings is a plus).
- Formal credit training and/or experience with corporate/municipal credit analysis is a plus.
- Experience with Bloomberg and DTCC settlement a plus.
- Series 7 and 63 licensed or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Highly proficient across MS Office Suite of products.
- Ability to analyze financial statements and related data to assess historical financial performance, credit quality, current condition and future outlook for various credit tenant lease transactions.
- Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative information and translate into deliverables.
- Strong professional communication and inter-personal skills, combined with the ability to succinctly express complex ideas both orally and in writing.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure, prioritizes tasks, react to changes and solve critical issues.
- Work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with business partners.
In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated hiring base salary for the role will be between $80,000 and $120,000 per year. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, also provides the opportunity for a performance based bonus and the Mesirow benefit program.
