What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator position at Meskan Foundry?
Operator
Meskan Foundry is a small 5th generation family-owned business. Our machine shop machines aluminum and bronze castings produced in our foundry.
We are looking for an operator willing to learn and grow with Meskan Foundry. Operators are responsible for producing machined parts by operating a CNC lathe or milling machine. Adherence to quality and safety standards, keeping records, maintaining equipment and supplies are key roles in this position.
Responsibilities:
· Follows supervisor instructions in regards to set-up of the parts.
· Load, unload parts and operate vertical CNC mills and lathes.
· Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering good manufacturing practices
· Measure parts using calipers and gauges.
· Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
· Perform other tasks as required.
Requirements:
· 2 years’ experience and/or education with CNC mills & lathes
· Ability to do simple math
· Ability to use grinders and hand stamps
40 hours a week with the opportunity for overtime. Your hourly wage will be based on your experience.
Hours: 6:30am-2:45pm
We are located at Grand & Central in Chicago.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
