ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR - VR & CB - FULL-TIME - GRAVEYARD SHIFT

STARTING RATE:  $25.50   MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT:  21 years old   LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:Valid Driver’s License and D.M.V. Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old; only if driving licensed company vehicles).   JOB SUMMARY:   Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department. Provides technical and administrative assistance to the Director of Engineering. Provides assistance in all operational aspects of the Engineering Department. Responsible for performing and overseeing a variety of complex repair and maintenance tasks on the Mesquite Gaming properties, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, general building upkeep, and HVAC systems to ensure the smooth operation of both the hotel and casino facilities, while maintaining a high standard of guest experience by promptly responding to maintenance requests and addressing any issues that arise; often requiring basic skills in multiple trades and a commitment to safety protocols.   JOB QUALIFICATIONS:   Minimum five (5) years of experience of general maintenance, including, but not limited to HVAC systems, required. Previous supervisor experience is preferred.  Must be customer service orientated and have the ability to communicate in English and have a positive attitude. May be required to work extended hours and work in a high paced environment where a sense of urgency is mandatory. Must be organized and manage his/her time as there will be more than one task starting at the same time. Must be able to utilize computer, electrical test equipment, any electrical and/or electronic equipment for the completion of daily assigned tasks.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:   Perform and oversee complex maintenance, repair and inspection of all machinery, equipment, HVAC systems, and all aspects of the physical property as directed.   Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all hotel casino facilities, including routine inspections, cleaning, and equipment servicing.   Develop and execute innovative solutions to engineering problems under the department management’s direction.   Follow specifications, blueprints, manuals and schematic drawings when necessary.   Identifies concerns and provides repair/maintenance solutions.   Review work orders and assign work by priorities.   Log, maintain logs and report status of various aspects of the physical property.   Understand, comply with, and enforce company and departmental policies and procedures, job descriptions, OSHA regulations and standards, and other written and verbal instructions.   Lead, motivate, encourage, train, and coach team members as needed. Report any matters that require disciplinary action to the Department Director.   Other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by management.   CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS:   Consistently makes every guest feel welcome and important.   Take ownership and ‘It’s my job’ attitude to complete each project.   Foster positive interactions and trust with internal and external customers.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS:   The work requires physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items.  The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity. Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.   WORK ENVIRONMENT:   The work environment involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress requiring a range of safety and other precautions, e.g., working at great heights under extreme outdoor weather conditions, under threat of physical attack or mob conditions, or in similar situations in which conditions cannot be controlled. The work environment involves exposure to secondhand smoke in a casino. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
