- To serve as secretary to the Child Find Department which includes clerical duties, problem solving, contacting parents, communicating with campus personnel, material acquisition, department inventory, and record keeping while maintaining a positive and professional office environment for personnel, students, parents, and guests.
- Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Bilingual (Fluent Spanish preferred- written and spoken language)
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Create correspondence such as letters, memos, reports, and forms for the Special Education Child Find department
- Possess appropriate typing skills for keyboarding.
- Maintain general office files for students
- Process referrals for Child Find
- Order materials for the Child Find department
- Attend after hours community events (some weekend and nightly activities)
- Exhibit effective communication skills and techniques, including verbal, nonverbal, and media communication.
- Demonstrate highly effective organizational and consensus building skills
- Possess knowledge and understanding of the policies and procedures of MISD.

- Answer routine telephone inquiries regarding the department programs and procedures.
- Type and prepare reports, file records/reports, handle correspondence within and outside the district, and other communications related to department functions and supervisor needs.

- Maintain department inventory.
- Operate standard office equipment.
- Schedule Child Find appointments for audiology, parent referrals, and evaluations
- Assist the Child find team and Audiologists with students and families
- Translate and/or Interpret in Spanish daily through written and verbal communication
- Maintain accurate records of student referrals for Audiology
- Perform data entry and extraction in various district systems and Google.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Communicating clearly and concisely.
- Reading and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence, memos.
- Writing simple correspondence and effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to meet deadlines from multiple assignment requests on a frequent basis.
