EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Installation, maintenance, and repair of all cabling and installation of new Technology.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Texas drivers' license.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Fiber Optic splicing
Knowledge of ANSI/TIA-568 standards
Tracing/Troubleshooting cabling issues.
Experience:
Installation of communication cabling in an enterprise environment.
Installation of basic technology.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Responsible for maintenance of the district wide fiber optic cabling system
Splicing/Termination of fiber optic cable.
Assist other areas of the department with technology installs on projects that require manual labor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None

Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
Communicating well in both oral and written form.
Physical demands/environmental factors:
Reaching with hands and arms and frequently repeating the same hand, arm or finger motion.
Climbing, stooping, bending, and kneeling.
Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 60 lbs.
Seeing close work such as typed or handwritten material
Able to work in high places on lifts and ladders.
Able to work in tight spaces such as crawl spaces.
