PRIMARY PURPOSE :
- Responsible for all aspects of the District's telecommunications systems and services. Make certain systems are operating properly by managing system software, managing updates, making repairs and performing preventative maintenance task.

High School DiplomaConvergence Technologies Professional (CTP), preferredValid Texas driver's licenseSpecial Knowledge / Skills :
Knowledge in basic networking principals as applied to telecommunicationsKnowledge in Enhanced 911 system and processesCompetent in troubleshooting enterprise level telecommunication systemsMust be highly organized, detailed orientedPossess effective communication skillsAble to proficiently use Microsoft Office software suiteExperience :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise level telecommunications systemsMinimum 5 years of experience with VOIP systemsMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
Manage and maintain the District's telecommunications system servers, software and hardware
Keeping all software, firmware and patches up-to-date so as to maximize system uptime and to keep the telecommunications system secureManage system backup's for all telecommunication systemsPerform all programming changes (moves, adds & deletes) on the telecommunication systemPerform all programming changes on the District's voicemail systemWork with department manager and department director to evaluate and select service providers. Assist with evaluating and selecting service types that best meet the District's telecommunication needsPerform all steps required to maintain up to date knowledge and proficiency on the District's telecommunications systems. Includes research, self-study, webinars, classes and other trainingService equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedulePerform other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
