Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff and coordinate patient care activities to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Conduct assessments of patients' conditions and develop appropriate care plans.
- Ensure compliance with hospital standards for sterile processing and infection control.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate effective communication regarding patient needs and treatment plans.
- Provide training and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Participate in critical care transport as needed, ensuring safe and efficient transfer of patients.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by patients or staff promptly and effectively.
Requirements
- Current nursing license with relevant certifications for practice in an acute care setting.
- Proven experience in a hospital environment, particularly within a teaching hospital framework.
- Familiarity with Epic or similar medical records systems is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of sterile processing standards and protocols.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage nursing teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team while maintaining focus on patient-centered care.
- Experience in critical care transport is a plus but not mandatory.
