Charge Nurse - RN

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. The Charge Nurse will play a pivotal role in overseeing patient care, managing nursing staff, and ensuring adherence to hospital standards. This position requires a strong background in acute care settings, with experience in sterile processing and familiarity with medical records systems such as Epic. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment typical of a teaching hospital and possess the skills necessary for critical care transport.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff and coordinate patient care activities to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Conduct assessments of patients' conditions and develop appropriate care plans.
• Ensure compliance with hospital standards for sterile processing and infection control.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate effective communication regarding patient needs and treatment plans.
• Provide training and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
• Participate in critical care transport as needed, ensuring safe and efficient transfer of patients.
• Address any issues or concerns raised by patients or staff promptly and effectively.

Requirements

• Current nursing license with relevant certifications for practice in an acute care setting.
• Proven experience in a hospital environment, particularly within a teaching hospital framework.
• Familiarity with Epic or similar medical records systems is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of sterile processing standards and protocols.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage nursing teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team while maintaining focus on patient-centered care.
• Experience in critical care transport is a plus but not mandatory.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
