EGC Construction, a subsidiary of Messer Construction Co., is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join the team. EGC employs more than 120 skilled craft workers that focus on safety, quality and customer satisfaction. We offer general, commercial and industrial construction including electrical work, millwrights, pipe fitters and structural steel detailers. Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, backhoes, bob cats, and all terrain forklifts to complete construction and earth-moving tasks.
Follow site plans, blueprints, and grade specifications for excavation and grading work.
Experience with other areas of site work and civil construction including concrete and underground utility work.
Adhere to all company and industry safety policies, including OSHA regulations.
OSHA 10 required to start; successful completion of OSHA 30 within 90 days.
Cleaning, lubricating and performing regular safety checks on equipment. Inspect, maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Ensuring sites are kept clean and safe.
Train new crew members in the safe operation of equipment.
What You Will Bring :
Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator in construction, excavation, or related fields.
Valid equipment operator certifications (such as NCCER OSHA or state-specific licensing) preferred.
Knowledge of safe operation and maintenance of heavy machinery.
Ability to attend meeting and refresher courses to ensure responsible equipment operation.
Abilities :
- Possess all auditory, speaking and communicating capabilities.
- Physical requirements : standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50lbs., seeing and reading.
