Job Summary:

The ASU Product Manager is responsible for the LIN, LOX and LAR product and pricing strategy, capacity planning, investment case development, supporting the market business development efforts for selected impact accounts, and profit performance of the LASU business.

Principal Responsibilities:

Identifies P&L risks and improvement opportunities for the North America ASU business; manages action plans

  • Aligns 1-year tactical decisions with 3-year strategic plans per plant/power zone.
  • Identifies when conditions change, and 3-year strategic plan needs to be modified.
  • Tracking volume, pricing and operational cost performance.
  • Support Pricing Strategy Manager with identifying cost risks and formulating & implementing action plans to recover.
  • Provides input for decisions regarding competitive swaps, purchases, feedgas agreements, etc.
  • Coordinates ongoing surcharges (diesel, outage and power) for ASU business with Supply Chain Planning and Sales & Marketing.

Responsible for ASU Product Management analysis and input to proposed customer deals

  • Provides day to day business development/sales support on pricing, product availability and key commercial terms in accordance with the DOA for Regional Sales Directors, or equivalent.
  • ROCT tool approvals per DOA.
  • Responsible for ROCT data updates (costs, product availability, sources, etc.) on a regular basis for ASU products.

On-going ASU portfolio management by plant/power zone

  • Responsible for plant loading curve analysis, tracking plant profitability and growth initiatives.
  • Key participant in Sales & Operations Planning process facilitating communication between Operations and Sales & Marketing.
  • CPR (Customer Performance/Pricing Review) lead for ASU sales channels.

Supports business case analysis, capacity planning and commercialization of investments

  • Leads development of investment case for new plants, based on power zone strategy with inputs from markets, business development and operations.
  • Development of 5 yr capacity plan for LASU products.
  • Helps monitors competitor activity by gathering feedback from Sales & Marketing and Operations teams.
  • Commercialization process owner for approved new investments.

Supports Product Management data analytics initiatives

  • Identify data analytics needs and participate in URS development.
  • Support development testing, implementation and on-going maintenance of tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in business environment
  • Familiarity with Messer commercial and/or operations capabilities a plus.
