Exciting opportunity to manage Messer’s trailer refurbishment center where our team proudly restores our bulk tanker fleet to like-new condition. We’re seeking a people and project manager who drives continuous improvement and safety in production / assembly line operations. Our Chattanooga refurb location provides great opportunities for innovation as we’re continuing to grow this site year over year.
Principal Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, support, and provide guidance to rehab shop staff.
- Drive trailer refurbishment production schedule to minimize equipment out of service time.
- Budget, plan and orchestrate production resources (time, labor, and material) to maximize production efficiency while remaining within financial targets.
- Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.
- Ensure that work performed on transport equipment in the rehab facility is complying to Messer design specifications, quality guidelines, and US DOT / Canada regulations.
- Champion continued process improvement (CPI) and lean initiatives for fleet refurb maintenance shop with emphasis on 5s implementation & sustainment.
- Ensure that work processes of technicians are complying to Messer Health Safety and Environment (HSE) safety requirements and OSHA regulations.
- Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
