Position Summary
In conjunction with the Director of Enrollment, the Enrollment Counselor will coordinate and oversee recruitment and admissions efforts for the graduate school’s programs at Messiah University. Responsibilities include communicating with prospective graduate students, representing graduate programs at educational fairs and events, networking with businesses and organizations to promote graduate programs, and assisting with inquiry and application processing. Education Required Bachelor’s Degree required Education Preferred Experience Required Experience in a higher education, sales, or recruiting office Experience Preferred 1-2 years of experience working in college admissions, recruitment, or sales with a demonstrated track record of meeting goals.
Experience with Technolutions Slate CRM Skills, Characteristics Required for Position

- Ability to work with and relate to both on- and off-campus constituents

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; desire and ability to proactively follow up with inquiries and applicants

- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities when faced with requests, demands and deadlines
- Computer proficiency including the ability to work independently in Banner, Excel, Word and Outlook; willingness to learn and utilize new computer applications and technologies
- Ability to work with Technolutions Slate CRM
Special Working Conditions Willingness to work weekends and evenings when required by programs or events. Some travel required. Driving Requirements Yes Essential Employee N / A Primary Duties 1. Serve as primary admissions contact for prospective graduate students
2. Counsel prospective graduate students for recruitment purposes in various settings and through various mediums (e.g., phone, electronic communication and in-person); communicate the mission and distinctive characteristics of Messiah University graduate programs
3. Educate prospective students regarding admission policies and procedures
4. Manage recruitment for specific graduate programs by regularly monitoring and assessing inquiry / applicant activity; conduct proactive follow-up with inquiries and applicants
a) Review applications and provide final admissions decisions for required programs
b) Create and manage online events for graduate programs
5. Attend a variety of recruitment events to promote the graduate programs
6. Consult regularly with Enrollment Director on recruitment efforts and trends; make recommendations regarding initiatives and goals
7. Maintain a working knowledge of each department’s interface with the graduate program and graduate student experience so as to provide excellent student-focused service
8. Serve as a liaison between prospective graduate students and various campus offices, such as Registrar’s Office, Student Financial Services, Information Technology Services, Graduate Program Directors / Coordinators and Administrative Support Staff9. Review and recommend revisions to admissions policies and procedures
10. Work with graduate enrollment staff to maintain accurate, up-to-date inquiry and applicant records in Slate & Banner
11. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance
