Director of Quality

Messina is partnering with a leading contract manufacturer of personal care and OTC products to find an experienced Director of Quality to lead QA, QC, and Regulatory teams at their Morton Grove facility. You'll oversee a team of approximately 20 professionals while ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Regulatory functions
• Manage analytical and microbiology laboratories
• Serve as primary contact for FDA, regulatory agencies, and customer quality matters
• Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining compliance standards
• Lead equipment and process qualifications (IQ, OQ, PQ)
• Collaborate with Sales, R&D, and Supply Chain on new product launches
• Manage FDA registrations for personal care and OTC products
• Oversee customer complaint investigations and implement corrective actions
• Develop and track quality KPIs for site and corporate reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology)
• 10 years in quality management, preferably in personal care or OTC products
• Experience with FDA regulations, cGMP, and quality systems
• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage teams
• Experience leading regulatory and customer audits
• Knowledge of laboratory operations and testing procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or advanced degree
• Background in contract manufacturing
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
