Senior LIMS Specialist

Messina Talent is assisting our client, a privately held biopharmaceutical company, with their search for a LIMS Specialist/Project Coordinator for a contract-to-hire opportunity. The LIMS Specialist will oversee and coordinate the initial development, validation, and implementation of the newly selected LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).

The Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Laboratory s goal is to generate electronic test orders and results and reports that will be used for determining patient eligibility for the company s target therapeutic. Once the LIMS implementation is completed this role will assume general lab operations and administrative duties. Other considerations include possibly converting this role to a Safety Officer to ensure the laboratory environments comply with safety regulations, prevent accidents, protect personnel, and maintain a culture of safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Partner with the company, its partners, and the external LIMS vendor to drive the efficient implementation of the LIMS system through Project Planning, Data Migration & Integration, Validation & Compliance Testing, Training & Change Management, and Go-Live & Post-Implementation Support
• Additional duties may arise relating to the laboratory business unit, which could become up to 50% of the role after LIMS implementation is complete

Job Requirements

• Prior experience as a clinical laboratory scientist
• Prior experience working with a LIMS system
• Prior experience working in an IHC laboratory is preferred
• Start-up mindset
