What are the responsibilities and job description for the Attorney of Counsel position at Messineo Law, LLC?
Messineo Law is looking for a part time attorney to handle Connecticut Civil Litigation Matters, flexible time. This position is well suited for an attorney who works remotely.
We are small, family owned and operated law firm looking to expand our practice into Connecticut. Our Main office is based in Northern New Jersey.
Initially, the responsibility will entail about 1-10 hours a week of work. However, we expect this to increase as our practice grows.
We are open to working with attorneys or law firms with established practices, or solo attorneys.
Responsibilities:
- Initially, if hired, the applicant will be assigned one file to manage on an hourly pay basis. Depending on volume of work, re-negotiation of this arrangement is possible.
- Will handle all aspects of litigation including preparing discovery, filing documents with the court, Motion Practice, and attending appearances in person if necessary.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an ABA accredited Law School.
- Must Be admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut.
- Bar admission in other states in the Tri State Area, such as NY, or NJ is preferred.
- At least one year of litigation experience in the State of Connecticut.
- Good understanding of Connecticut state law and procedure is required.
- Experience in Civil Litigation is required.
- Experience working for insurance carriers is preferred.

Pay: $28.31 - $50.00 per hour
