The Commercial Roofer will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining roofs on commercial buildings. This role requires expertise in various roofing materials, safety protocols, and efficient work practices to ensure high-quality roofing solutions that meet industry standards. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of commercial roofs to identify damages, leaks, or potential issues.
- Perform repairs, replacements, and installations of various roofing materials such as built-up roofing, single-ply roofing, metal roofing, and modified bitumen roofing systems.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete roofing tasks.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while working at heights and using power tools.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of roofing projects within budget and according to specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, hours worked, and project progress.
- Communicate with clients to address their roofing needs, provide recommendations, and answer any questions or concerns.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to commercial roofing.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Roofer or similar role, with a minimum of 2 years in commercial roofing.
- Extensive knowledge of various roofing materials, installation techniques, and repair methods.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings related to roofing projects.
- Proficiency in using roofing tools and equipment, including but not limited to roofing hammers, nail guns, ladders, and safety harnesses.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to diagnose roofing issues and implement effective solutions.
- Physical stamina and strength to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites as required.
- OSHA certification or willingness to obtain one.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in roofing is preferred.
