Messner Reeves LLP, a national law firm, is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team in Denver, Colorado.
Position Overview:
This position requires a high degree of interaction with firm partners, associates and staff, as well as clients. As such, candidates should have good judgment and impeccable professionalism.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate heavy scheduling and calendaring for attorney meetings, court deadlines, and depositions.
- Provide support by drafting correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents
- Prepare files and/or binders for hearings, depositions, meetings and trials.
- Assist with client engagement and retention. Including preparation of engagement letters, conflict checks, conflict waivers, and submitting information to open matters.
- Ability work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Team player with excellent listening, verbal and communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Must demonstrate a strong worth ethic and consistent schedule.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years' experience working in the following practice areas - Landlord/Tenant Law, Premises Liability, Real Estate, and Insurance Defense.
- Experience handling multiple attorneys with full caseloads.
- Well versed in both federal and state court procedures and filing requirements, including e-filing in federal court.
- Pre-trial preparation and trial assistance experience required.
- Organized, reliable, and attentive to details.
- Ability to work in-person 4 days a week.
