Job Description
The Field Service Technician will install, repair, and service complex machinery for HVAC duct fabrication. The role involves traveling extensively, providing hands-on mechanical and electrical support, and retrofitting system controls on automated sheet metal processing equipment.
Wage Range- 70,500-85,000 exempt, depending on education/experience.
Schedule- will vary based on scheduled products with a rotation of other technicians.
Essential Duties
- Install, repair, dismantle, and service company-manufactured equipment.
- Perform control upgrades and troubleshooting on machines with varying service times.
- Interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical/layout drawings, and specifications/procedures for repair and installation.
- Service electrical equipment by testing, replacing faulty components, and analyzing circuits.
- Train customers on equipment/software operation and maintenance.
- Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical and operational problems onsite.
- Maintain and install communication and power cables.
- Perform preventive maintenance and advise customers on safety protocols.
- Travel to customer sites across the U.S. and occasionally internationally.
- Complete on a regular basis service and expense reports.
- Provide phone support to customers while in house.
- Assist quality control in testing new machinery when needed.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive knowledge in both mechanical and electrical.
- Must be able to travel extensively both domestic and international.
- Experience in industrial maintenance.
- Ability to work in varied conditions, including confined spaces.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Ability to use a variety of precision measuring devices.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must demonstrate professionalism with a variety of stakeholders.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Completed Industrial maintenance program or similar education.
- 2 years of experience working in industrial maintenance.
- 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing setting.

- Additional pay for weekend work/travel per day, plus straight time pay for hours worked.
- Straight time pay for hours worked beyond eight hours per day while on the road.
- Per diem with traveling, and flights/car/hotel rentals are covered for each job.
- Company provides base travel tool set as well as job boxes with additional supplies for installation.
- Most jobs are two weeks and technicians are able to return home for the weekend in between.
Physical Demands
The individual will regularly be required to stand. The individual will frequently be required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The individual will occasionally be required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
