Scope of Position:
Working under the general direction of the Quality Manager will oversee the implementation and management of quality control systems and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
This role supports the ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 14001:2015 objectives and promotes a safe and healthy workplace while meeting the company’s business and operational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Engineering Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality standards and quality control systems.
- Monitor and analyze quality performance, including inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
- Inspect products and ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Audit internal processes, initiate corrective and preventive actions, and monitor resolutions.
- Collaborate with teams to enhance product and process quality, including documentation.
- Communicate quality or compliance concerns promptly and effectively.
- Conforms to all Quality and Environmental Management System policies, objectives, and obligations.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and meetings to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Obtain and manage necessary environmental permits.
- Assess and mitigate health risks associated with workplace activities or exposures.
- Create and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct regular training sessions on EHS topics.
- Maintain detailed records of incidents, training, audits, and inspections.
- Act as the primary contact for workplace injuries, incidents, and related reporting.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance and/or EHS roles, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance methods, tools, and quality manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and environmental permitting processes.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, conflict management skills, and attention to detail.
- Effective multitasking, establishing priorities, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Combination of office and production floor work environments.
