We fight poverty through comprehensive social services and by treating each client with compassion, integrity, and respect. Our programs are staffed by experts who help over 325,000 clients each year and advocate on behalf of all needy New Yorkers. Our services include 100% affordable housing at 21 locations, family violence services, Holocaust survivor assistance, geriatric social work, crisis intervention and the largest free kosher food distribution program in the world. Our network of 120 food pantries, affordable housing sites, and JCCs provide services directly in neighborhoods across New York City.
Position Summary:
The part-time Administrative Assistant will work with our case management staff to collect required documentation from Holocaust Survivors enrolled in our home delivery program. The main responsibilities of this position include assisting case workers in mailing forms clients need to sign and uploading client documentation in our online database.
Please note: This is a part-time on-site position (Tuesdays-Thursdays, 9:00am-5:00pm) based out of our main office located in the Financial District.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Assist case workers with collecting and uploading clients' forms and documents in our office, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Compile required documentation from Holocaust Survivors enrolled in our home delivery program.
- Conduct occasional home visits to obtain client signatures on essential documents.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of client interactions and documentation received.
- Collaborate with team members to improve administrative processes and procedures in the home delivery program.
- Uphold a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with clients, providing the necessary support and assistance they require.
- Additional responsibilities as required.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Skill and Education Required:
- High School Diploma (required); Bachelors Degree (preferred).
- 2 years work experience in administrative or office work.
- 2 years experience working with clients (preferred).
- Must be fluent in English; additional language capacities (preferred).
Special Requirements:
- This position requires a willingness to travel throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
- The primary location for this position will be One State Street Plaza, 24th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
Compensation: $20 - $25 per hour.
