Job Overview
The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use in medical procedures. The technician will work closely with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to support patient care through effective sterile processing practices.

Duties

• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established protocols.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality before sterilization.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of sterile supplies and equipment.
• Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during the processing of instruments.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for surgeries and procedures.
• Follow safety guidelines and infection control protocols at all times.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with industry standards and practices.

Experience
Candidates should possess a strong understanding of sterile processing principles, including:

• Aseptic technique: Knowledge of methods to maintain sterility during handling and processing.
• Medical terminology: Familiarity with terms related to anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures.
• Sterile processing: Experience or training in cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing medical instruments.
• Inventory management: Skills in tracking supplies and ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Physiology knowledge: Understanding of human body systems relevant to surgical procedures.
• Anatomy knowledge: Familiarity with the structure of the human body as it relates to surgical interventions.
• Start Date - 12/30/24

Shift - 03:00 PM-11:30 PM
Duration – 13 Weeks

Position Required:
· Experience: Must have minimum 3 years of experience.
· Certification: Must have Basic Life Support (BLS). Certification in field required.
· EPIC experience strongly preferred.
· Call Requirements: No Call.
· Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend/holiday required.
· De-escalation is not needed for SPT
