Our team is building large-scale persistent maps for AR and VR products at Meta. The precise geometric representation of the environment enables rich and consistent AR and VR experiences. We cover three pillars of work : Cloud mapping pipeline and platform serving various use casesCore mapping algorithm development including conventional and machine learning-based Structure-from-motion (Structure-from-Motion), VIO & SLAMLarge-scale mapping and maps management.Computer Vision and Machine Learning Engineer ResponsibilitiesLead algorithm development for mapping as a computer vision or machine learning state estimation expert.Develop state-of-the-art software solutions for high-quality 3D maps.Collaborate with partner teams on sensor calibration, map quality assessment, and user experiences.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Expertise in computer vision and machine learning domain knowledge in 3D mapping.Proven experience with C and / or Python, including experience with modern features.Understanding and experience of 3D geometry, linear algebra, numerical optimization, statistics, and probability.Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Robotics, or related fields.Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.Experience in advanced geometric computer vision, computational imaging, large-scale numerical optimization, state estimation, and sensor fusion.Experience working in a Linux environment.Broad understanding of the full machine vision pipeline from sensors to high-level algorithms.CompensationUS$85.10 / hour to US$251,000 / year bonus equity benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
