Public Affairs Manager, Strategic ResponseMeta is seeking a Public Affairs Manager focused on rapid response communications. This person is expected to maintain relationships with key media and influencers and should be highly organized, energetic, and detail-oriented. Key parts of the role will include devising media and social media strategy around challenging and time-sensitive issues, drafting statements and messaging, and working directly with reporters. The ideal candidate will need to quickly absorb complex issues, come up with a response strategy, and lead cross-functional efforts to reach resolution. This role is on the Strategic Response Communications team.Responsibilities Lead response strategy on some of Meta’s most pressing and complex issuesWork directly with reporters on storiesDraft statements and messagingDevelop and execute rapid response plans for media / social mediaPartner with communications team colleagues when issues arise in their areas of subject matter expertiseCounsel cross-functional partners, including leadership, on communications considerations for policy changes, product updates and other announcementsMinimum Qualifications 7 years of experience working in communications or journalismBachelor's degree in Communications / Journalism, English, or related fieldExperience working directly with reportersExperience leveraging social media platforms as a rapid response strategyExperience managing issues and rapid response communicationsExperience drafting messaging materials, and working with cross-functional groupsExperience with multiple deliverables and working in a deadline driven environmentExperience distilling complex technology or policy issues into simplified languagePreferred Qualifications Political or policy communications experienceKnowledge or background working with Artificial IntelligenceFor those who live in or expect to work from California if hired for this position, please click here for additional information.About Meta Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
