Location: On Site M-F 8:30am to 5 pm 270 North Congress Avenue, Lake Park, Florida
We are looking for a skilled Manufacturing Manager to lead our metal design and fabrication operations for Switchboard enclosures and busbar designs. This role requires a strong understanding of metalworking processes and the ability to manage a diverse team. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, ensure product quality, and foster innovation in our manufacturing processes. Reports to: Director of Operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: o Manage and mentor a team of engineers and fabricators, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations to ensure team development and accountability.
- Metal Design Oversight: o Oversee the metal design process for Switchboard enclosures and busbar systems, ensuring designs are practical, compliant with industry standards, and meet customer specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Fabrication Management: o Manage all aspects of metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. oEnsure all fabrication is completed on time and according to each project schedule.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: o Prepare and manage budgets for the manufacturing department, focusing on costeffective operations.
- Monitor production costs and implement strategies for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
- Collaboration & Communication: o Work closely with crossfunctional teams (engineering, procurement, quality assurance) to align manufacturing capabilities with project requirements.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in the electrical or metal fabrication industry.
- Strong understanding of metal design principles and fabrication techniques for Switchboard enclosures and busbar systems.
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of improving team performance and productivity.
- Excellent problemsolving abilities and experience in managing complex manufacturing processes.
- Proficient in CAD software and metalworking tools and technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with conducting drawing and design reviews for complex mechanical assemblies and systems.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and assembly techniques for power distribution equipment.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy objects.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for working with tools and equipment.
Ability to work in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Physical stamina to work long hours when necessary to meet project deadlines.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
