At Reality Labs, we are focused on defining experiences in Augmented and Virtual Reality utilizing AI, finding new ways for people to connect and build communities and help people feel more present with each other even when we're apart. The Wearables team is building new devices and software platforms with work spanning a number of breakthrough technologies, ranging from entertainment and gaming to education and beyond. We are seeking a visionary Art Director to lead the creation of innovative visuals for Wearable devices. This includes building pipelines and tools that enable the team to harness the power of AI in asset creation, ultimately producing inspiring and visually stunning work.
Art Director, Wearables Responsibilities
- Lead in the collaborative development of polished visuals, experiences, and artwork.
- Integrate AI into art production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop new concepts and workflows. Work closely with cross functional partners to integrate AI technologies into the creative workflow.
- Lead the development and execution visual components for Wearable devices, ensuring high-quality and cohesive visual experiences leveraging AI, including graphics, images, and videos.
- Oversee the conceptualization, design, and scaled production of AI-generated visuals from initial sketches to final implementation.
- Establish a unified artistic direction, vision, and high production standard in the creation of visuals for both external and internal use cases.
- Partner with teams across Meta to create inspirational visuals that convey current day hardware capabilities, as well as future-looking and inspirational content.
- Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of visual components to ensure they meet project goals, quality standards, and brand guidelines.
- Implement the latest AI technologies in art creation, including generative models and machine learning algorithms.
- Automate processes to streamline the graphics production process and improve efficiency.
- Create and maintain comprehensive system guidelines to ensure consistency across all illustrated elements.
- Experiment with different AI tools and techniques to continuously improve the graphics production process.
- Communicate art direction goals at an executive level and external partners.
- Work closely with 3D designers to integrate elements into three-dimensional spaces.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in AI-generated art, illustration, AR, and 3D design, applying this knowledge to drive innovation in projects.
