What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camera Architecture Technology Lead position at Meta?
The Meta Camera and Depth Architecture team is looking for a camera architecture technology lead to mentor and lead the camera architecture team while driving current and future camera technology architectures for Meta's AR/VR products. Camera Architects collaborate cross-functionally with Meta's product teams to navigate use case and feature requirements, ISP and silicon capabilities, power budgets, optical and mechanical design requirements, and imaging solution cost. Camera Architecture Technology Lead Responsibilities:
- Drive camera architecture for multiple products within Meta's portfolio of AR/VR devices.
- Partner with technology leads to define technology roadmap.
- Collaborate with internal partners (engineers, researchers, etc.) and vendors to develop current and new technology architectures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. (or equivalent experience), in Optics, Physics, Image Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Image Processing or related technical discipline.
- Experience in several key imaging areas such as optics and optical design, sensor technologies, imaging system architecture design and system trades, image signal processing, and the interdependence of the camera HW with the associated ML techniques, CV algorithms, and imaging algorithms.
- Proven leadership in architecting and delivering miniature, digital imaging subsystems (i.e., for human-consumption and machine consumption) for high-volume, consumer electronics devices.
- Expertise in photographic imaging digital camera systems, computer and machine vision camera systems, and working knowledge of depth camera systems.
- Relevant experience leading technical teams in camera architecture and subsystems.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching junior camera system engineers.
- Expertise in cross-functional communication.
- Expertise in managing complex and ambiguous design trade spaces in digital imaging.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in fields of Optics, Physics, Image Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Image Processing or related technical discipline.
- Experience in new technology development roadmapping, planning, prototyping, and evaluation efforts.
- Expertise in camera use cases and design constraints for AR/VR and wearable applications.
- Experience in depth-based camera systems: passive stereo, active stereo, iToF, and dToF.
- Experience in digital camera manufacturing, calibration, test, and reliability.
- Experience managing teams in camera architecture and design.
