Meta is seeking a Commodity Planning Manager to lead and optimize our Network Hardware (NWHW) demand planning within our Infra Supply Chain and Engineering (ISCE) Organization. Network Hardware Commodity Planning Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop partnerships with Sourcing, Engineering and Finance teams to build the mid-to-long term demand planning and forecasting strategies.
- Partner to develop an optimized supply plan to support build out of Network, Data Center Construction and Compute & Storage. Work closely with suppliers to build production capacity, and alternatives for material constraints. Make informed trade-off decisions when operating in limited resource environments to source a reliable supply plan.
- Maintain BOM explosion, commodity planning (including demand/supply balance), and OEM supplier management.
- Develop and build forecasting models and related strategies in collaboration with capacity and data science engineering teams that incorporate cost optimization, Capacity deployment demands, AI/GenAI strategies and Network Topology. Develop what-if planning models (flexibility simulator) and planning systems for demand (Oracle).
- Create buffer/excess inventory burn down plans and create strategy for buffer replenishment.
- Establish and validate supply chain metrics for inventory buffer, aging inventory, and excess and obsolescence (E&O) risk.
- Build and utilize planning software to manage supply chain processes. Collaborate with our Enterprise Products and Analytics teams to continually enhance our automation efforts, optimizing efficiency and accuracy in our supply chain operations.
- Work with cross-functional partners to identify cost reduction opportunities. This includes strategies such as excess & obsolescence reduction, work with engineering for design for Manufacturing, NPI for design sign-off and transition, holding statistically planned safety stock, and overall building inventory optimization techniques at the rack and commodity level.
- Effectively communicate the supply plan and its commitments across the organization, including up to the leadership level and across various cross-functional teams, ensuring a clear understanding of supply commitments and potential implications.
- Support the IBP/S&OP cycle, ensuring that it aligns with overall business objectives and maintaining a seamless process from start to end.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business (operations, supply chain, finance, economics), engineering, or supply chain management
- 7 years of experience in supply chain-related roles such as demand, supply, materials, or inventory planning
- Technical knowledge of hardware forecasting approaches and supply chain demand planning
- Understanding of analytics / modeling for multi-pool inventory management buffers for key commodities
- Knowledge of Network Engineering systems utilization / forecasting data models
- Advanced demand planning / ERP systems design and usage (O9/SAP/Oracle)
- Statistical / Stochastic Forecasting development (Ex. Monte Carlo modeling)
- Master Data Management / Planning BOM Management
- Core understanding (and driver) of the Integrated Business Planning process
- Experience with scripting languages, including but not limited to Apps Script and SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Masters in Supply Chain
- 10 years of experience in supply chain-related roles. Demand, supply, materials, or inventory planning experience
- Experience with hyper-scale technology
- Detailed-oriented, highly-collaborative, experience communicating complex problems and solutions, and bias for action to overcome challenges
- Demonstrated experience in process/system background and capacity to rapidly understand, use, and drive improvements in new processes
- Experience in solver-based systems, as it pertains to demand analytics and forecasting
- Experience in the advanced forecast models, predictive analytics and demand sensing using ERP modules and/or internally built systems
- Detailed knowledge of network hardware architecture and technologies
