The Audio team within RL Research is looking for an experienced, innovative Signal Processing and Machine Learning Research Scientist with a specialty in multi-channel audio processing to join our growing team. You will be doing research and applied research in technologies that improve a listener’s hearing abilities under challenging listening conditions along with a team of dedicated researchers, developers, and engineers. You will operate at the intersection of acoustics, hearing and signal processing algorithms with hardware and software co-design.

Research Scientist : Multi-channel Audio Processing and Machine Learning Responsibilities :
Develop novel algorithms and signal processing techniques to solve complex problems at the intersection between beamforming, machine learning, acoustics and signal processing with applications in VR and AR.
Develop Multi-channel audio algorithms combining DSP and ML, and limit their total footprint on memory and compute.
Lead the development of applications to enable quick prototyping, proof-of-concept and demonstrations.
Collaborate with teams in the larger Reality Labs organization and provide creative leadership on cross-team technologies.
Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
PhD or equivalent experience in Applied Mathematics, Audio Engineering and Signal Processing, Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience developing and productizing audio real-time solutions.
Experience developing, implementing and evaluating ML and DSP solutions for microphone arrays.
3 years experience in programming in C , MATLAB, or Python.

3 years experience developing, implementing and evaluating algorithm and signal processing techniques for beamforming and machine learning solutions.
Demonstrated experience designing, executing, and analyzing perceptual studies to evaluate audio performance.
Proven track record of achieving successful tech transfers in industry.
