What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upper School Math Teacher position at Metairie Park Country Day School?
Metairie Park Country Day School seeks an experienced and enthusiastic teacher who enjoys working with young people to fill the position of Upper School Math Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Teaching experience and an advanced degree are preferred. This is a full-time, 10-month, position that includes a comprehensive benefits package along with all school-year holidays.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teaching up to five sections of Upper School Math
- Developing differentiated lessons that provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the established curriculum to the needs of each student
- Collaborating with fellow colleagues to coordinate and connect curricular goals
- Serving as an advisor to roughly a dozen students, monitoring the students' progress in all facets of school life and assisting the student in making goals, plans, and decisions
- Communicating with parents about students’ progress
- Being an open and active participant in regular professional learning
- Being an active member of the Country Day community
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Head of School or a division principal
- Supporting the Mission of the school and its leadership
