Delivery Driver/Material Handler

Metal Components is a start-to- finish sheet metal and tube processing company located in the South End of Grand Rapids Michigan. Schedule: Monday through Thursday 6 am to 4 pm and Friday for overtime. Hourly

What you need to be successful at Metal Components:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and plan daily/weekly work schedule with supervisor, immediately addressing any issues or concerns.

• Have a safe and clean driving record. Chauffeur's license is a must!

• Ability to listen to, read and follow instructions from supervisor

• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

• Opens containers using steel cutters or other hand tools.

• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.

• Loads and unloads materials on and off vehicles and installs or removes strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.

• Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated areas, using hand trucks, or other device.

• Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination, using hand-operated crane or hoist to destination.

• Can comprehend and perform basic computer operation as needed to document product receipt, product shipment, and product invoicing.

• Labels material to properly identify for storage as requirements dictate for raw stock or work in process.

• Move material from “hold” areas only after being released by Quality Assurance.
