Primary Outcomes:

The role of this position is to grow the business by estimating bidding projects and all inbound inquiries from the current customer base. The Estimator will accept from customer all inbound estimates, requests for estimates, and be responsible for working up detailed scope review sheets and pricing as well as present the information to internal team upon sold.

Detailed Tasks, Duties and Deliverables:

o Accepts all inbound estimates from customers and Estimator Manager for bidding responsibilities. There is no cold calling. All calls are following up on inbound leads.

o Responsible for working up pricing on inbound estimates.

o Established communication with customers on inquiries and questions during the bidding phase.

o Establish key liaison responsibilities with inbound customers and prospects from outside the sales territory as determined with the Estimator Manager.

o Establish base parameters of needed information prior to estimating.

o Establish base parameters of performance around exceeding customer and prospect expectations on turn time of quotes.

o Provides project team accurate spreadsheets and takeoff review scope sheets for review.

o Participates in training of new Estimators.

o Strive to quote at a predetermined profit level TBD with Estimator Manager/Corporate Sales Manager.

o Assists in requests for substitutions that are submitted for product approval.

o Assists in Onscreen Takeoff Software updates, issues, and provides training to new Estimators.

o Assists the process of turning a bidding project to sold project through establishing guidelines for handoff to engineering.

o Participates in Internal Scope Review meetings and presents engineering with detailed report of what was estimated as required.

o Participates in online bidding project search through ISQFT/Dodge/Reed as required.

o Other duties as requested by supervisor.

Required Talents:

o Ability to visualize concepts in 3D.

o Able to read blueprints and understand architectural concepts.

o Excellent analytical skills, with focus and attention to detail.

o Performance oriented achiever, thorough, able to comprehend large amounts of information per project; budget minded.

o Excellent communication skills.

o Meet or exceed deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

o Knowledge of commercial, architectural construction or industry experience.

o Experience with Excel and/or estimating take off software.

o 2 years of architectural or construction industry experience.

o Experience installing cladding systems.

o Estimating experience preferred.

Education Preferred:

o Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, or related fields.
