Production Operator
Our Production Operator will make a variety of parts using a variety of machinery under supervision. You will be responsible for basic set ups and operating various machines to ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. The production operator is reliable and able to work under supervision with attention to detail and within safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, we expect our team members to have a willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried out safely to maximize efficiency and profits and meet all part specifications. Starting annual pay is $45,760.
Responsibilities

- Responsible for meeting performance objectives
- Perform basic operation of CNC laser cutting machine and automated loading system
- Perform basic operation of Press Brakes
- Fabricate and assemble metal parts using MIG welding techniques to join metal together
- Perform machine setups (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
- Control and adjust the functions and setting of machines
- Feed the necessary raw material or parts to machines
- Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools to ensure parts meet requirements
- Test the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running
- Performs basic troubleshooting
- Performs daily and weekly PM’s on equipment
- Safely use hand tools and power tools to descale, deburr parts, and sand parts
- Lift raw materials, final products, and items and prepare for movement and shipment
- Operate forklift to safely move materials
- Check output to discover any mistakes or flaws
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
- Maintain activity logs and report all issues to direct supervisor
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Adhere to all safety guidelines
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Participate in improvement activities and makes recommendations for improvement
- Participate in training and learn to safely operate lasers, press brakes, robotic welder, and other sheet metal fabrication equipment.
- Perform other duties as required
Job Requirements
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to make and read measurements.
- Ability to read dimensions from a drawing and measure the same on the part
- Ability to read, understand and carry out written instructions.
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal instructions.
- Standing up to 100% of the entire time.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, 35 lbs. frequently.
- Continuous eye concentration
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs (including nights, evenings, on-call, and weekends).
- Overtime as required.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Prior experience in a manufacturing or factory environment required. Preferred experience applying Lean thinking, Lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Valid driver’s license is required. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
