Job Overview:

We are seeking a Metal Fabrication Material Handler to support our production team by loading, unloading, transporting, and organizing raw materials, finished parts, and fabrication components. This role requires forklift operation, inventory management, and coordination with fabricators, welders, and CNC operators to ensure smooth workflow and material availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload metal materials (sheet metal, tubing, final products, etc.) using forklifts.
• Transport raw materials and fabricated parts between stations, and assembly areas.
• Organize and maintain the inventory of metals, supplies, and tools in storage areas.
• Assist with machine loading for CNC laser cutters, press brakes, and other fabrication equipment.
• Ensure proper labeling, tracking, and documentation of materials and parts.
• Work closely with the production team to stage materials for jobs based on work orders.
• Perform quality checks to ensure materials are free from defects before processing.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment following OSHA safety guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on forklifts, and tools, including cleaning, and troubleshooting, to ensure optimal performance, safety, and minimal downtime in production operations.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years fork lift experience.
• 1-3 years in a manufacturing, warehouse, or metal fabrication environment (preferred).
• Valid Louisiana driver’s license is a MUST and clean MVR.
• Strong focus on meeting production standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills for material tracking and inventory management.
• Familiarity with sheet metal, steel, aluminum, and fabrication components.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
