What are the responsibilities and job description for the Die Setter-Class B position at METAL POWDER PRODUCTS LLC?
Job Summary:
Setup Class C and B type parts within the QAD standard. Responsible for the safe setup and operation of equipment. Keep work area clean and organized.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily mold/sizing record.
- Follow instructions.
- Follow all established safety regulations and procedures.
- Follow all instructions listed on PCPs and setup info sheets.
- Adjust presses when needed.
- Ensure all press safeties are properly set – Verify safety checklist at the start of each shift.
- Setup Class C & B type parts within QAD standard time and at QAD rate.
- Keep area clean and organized and put items back where they belong (bolts, backer blocks, rings, and collets, etc.).
- Work with Supervisor and Trainer to train to move to the next level of Die setting (if not already completed).
- Accurately fill out the Daily Production log.
- Participates in ongoing training and continuous improvement activities.
- Participates in Tool breakage investigation process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure that parts are holding size, weight, and density and that all dimensions are in the “center” of the Molding Spec before taking part into Quality Inspector for initial setup check in.
- Operate Compaction presses when needed.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Skills Executed:
Communication (written & oral), multi-tasking, efficient organization of multiple tasks, basic blueprint reading, mechanical ability, inspection of product and team based behavior.
Education: High School Graduate / GED
Safety Requirements: When required in specific areas. This includes, but is not limited to safety glasses, with side shields, hearing protection, and gloves.
