JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Quality Technicians assist with Engineering functions to aid the Operations Team in delivering high-quality products cost-effectively, punctually, and safely to ensure customer satisfaction. This includes the timely preparation and delivery of Prototypes and PPAP and for customer review and approval.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Closely communicate with the New Product Introduction Teams through the development and launch of new and revised products. Lead or assist leading the following activities:
- Layout, Capability, and other Engineering measurement studies
- Measurement system studies including gage correlation studies.
- Establishment of process controls for quality system elements (e.g., sample size, frequency, FMEA, Control Plan, etc.)
- Compile Measurement and Test results as required for Prototype and PPAP submission.
- Compile all required documentation according to both internal and customer standards while ensuring that all customer engineering requirements are met. (compare measured results to drawing requirements, document everything)

Provide support to the Operations Team as follows:
- Maintain the Company Gage Calibration and Control Systems.
- Provide the required gaging, training, and written instruction for sorting and inspection activities.
- Train or assist with quality-training programs for hourly and salary employees to support customers, internally and externally.

Assist leading problem-solving efforts for internal and external issues.
- Document and champion the 8D process for internal and external concerns.
- Develop and implement corrective/preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct internal & external audits.
- Participate in Competitive Edge (Continuous Improvement) initiatives.
- Maintain 6S standards in personal work areas. (Workplace Organization and Safety)
- Other related duties assigned, as necessary.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must exhibit a habit for critical thinking.
- Must understand measurement systems, measurement error, and have a basic understanding of metallurgy.
- Must demonstrate working knowledge in multiple areas of manufacturing.
- Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and/or in a cross-functional work team environment.
- Must be comfortable and excel in a fast paced, results driven environment.
EDUCATION:
- Degree in Engineering or Engineering-Related field strongly preferred. Work experience in Quality Assurance or Engineering role and a proven history as a minimum requirement.
- Minimum of two years related experience in quality.
- Proficiency with Minitab (or other statistical software) and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with PC-DIMS software, design software (CAD), and Plex beneficial.
