Estimator/Sales

Job Summary

Responsible for preparation of competitive, accurate and profitable estimates and proposals for fabrication of metal roof retrofits and other metal products.

Essential Job Functions

• Evaluate scope of work and RFQ’s from customers including drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Develop takeoff documents.
• Prepare material take-offs based on drawings and specifications.
• Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Metal Roof Contractors’ products, services, and pricing structure.
• Source and price materials as needed to prepare estimates.
• Exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude toward customers and co-workers while being sensitive to their needs.
• Work with customers to ensure their exact requirements are being satisfied and work to bring additional value to the project.
• Obtain approvals of submittal drawings.
• Revise submittal drawings when necessary.
• Maintain a database of submittal information and assist in the preparation of submittals.
• Determine products required by customer and suggest additional items related to the customer’s needs.
• Obtain and maintain vendor subcontractor quotes and pricing.
• Prepare detailed proposals, including schedule, payment terms, terms & conditions.
• Participate in kick-off meetings prior to start of fabrication as required.
• Identify leads, manage prospects, and acquire new business.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, occasionally overhead.
• Frequent use of office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines.
• May sit for long periods of time without a break.
• Required to bend, kneel, squat, climb ladder/stairs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Requires normal range of hearing.
