Summary
Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation is the nation’s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. As a result of an expanded market segment strategy focus, we have a new Sales Leadership position open in our Midwest region.
This position is responsible for supporting sales team members to achieve sales targets that meet the company objectives. This position requires an understanding of the building material markets and customer channels to develop strategic sales plans that meet company goals for sales growth and customer satisfaction. This is a leadership position with direct reports including Territory Sales Managers (TSM) and Inside Sales Representatives (ISR). Extensive travel is required.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Serving as an extension of the Regional Vice President Sales (RVPS) for all sales related strategies and initiatives in a defined area
- Supporting and coordinating regional sales functions associated with all Metal Sales products and market segments with specific focus on growing Metal Sales presence in respective business channel (either commercial and architectural or distribution and retail)
- Providing a positive impact on company growth by exhibiting leadership and direction in support of Metals Sales management strategies
- Developing annual sales plan in support of organization strategy and objectives
- Achieving established sales, margin and volume goals
- With some involvement of the RVP, responsible for recruiting, coaching and performance monitoring of sale team members
- Responsible for initial and ongoing sales training for all TSMs and ISRs in defined area
- Working in conjunction with RVPS regarding pricing strategy and policies for the region aligned with corporate guidelines
- Supporting implementation and execution of sales policies and practices, short and long-range goals and objectives
- Presenting monthly forecasts and sales highlight reports to the management team
- Working closely with General Managers and ensuring sales team members maintain clear, consistent, regular communication with the respective branches
- Recommending sales strategies for improvement based on market trends, industry trends, budgets and competitor analysis
The most qualified candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business is preferred, or equivalent in relevant experience
- Proven work experience as a Regional Sales Manager, Area Manager or similar senior sales role in the building materials industry
- Ability and desire to travel up to, and over 75%
- Excellent negotiation and verbal/written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude
- Must be able to work effectively with and manage a diverse group of people
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office. Familiarity with CRM software
