What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRODUCTION ASSISTANT position at Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation?
Summary
Metal Sales is the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our New Albany, IN branch has an opening on our Production team for a Production Assistant.
Regular hours for this position are Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Overtime, including nights and weekends may be necessary during peak season.
Let us tell you about the responsibilities and expectations of this role to ensure we are the right fit for each other.
You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Daily data entry and upload of production materials
- Maintaining various Excel spreadsheets to track production of materials
- Tracking and maintaining various aspects of inventory
- Working with all teams and departments in the branch to troubleshoot issues and ensure accurate reporting
- Full Quarterly cycle counts
- Assisting with other responsibilities as needed
- Branch to Branch order processing and communicating
The most qualified candidates will have:
- At least 1 year experience in a data entry or administrative support role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- The ability to analyze data and paperwork and work with peers and customers to resolve issues
- Inventory control experience beneficial
- Phenomenal data entry accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Professional communication skills
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with any of the following systems is a plus: NetSuite ERP
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to work in a plant environment and be on your feet for hours @ a time counting material daily 3-5 days a week
