Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspects castings for the following as required on work instructions
- External defects/scrap chute
- Excessive core fin or flash
- Bum-in sand removal
- High ingate removal
- Operates all grinders in a safe manner by inspecting grinder for proper adjustment, cracks or chips in the wheel and overall working condition. The casting inspector will report any problems to the supervisor.
- After inspection, removes excess metal from castings, following directions from work instructions.
- Places finished parts in designated shipping containers (W-9029) for shipment as specified by work instructions.
- Places appropriate "OK to Ship" tag on the container and writes clock number, part number and date on the tag (W-9029)
- Will accept other jobs in the finishing department, as needed.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area
- High school diploma or GED
