Inspect - Finishing Supervisor

General Summary: Supervises and directs employees in finishing.   Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Utilize manpower and equipment to maximize productivity while ensuring quality standards are maintained. Oversees shipping department. Directs work force to process castings in accordance with procedures and work instructions. Continuously trains employees in safe work practices. Directs employees to maintain a clean and orderly work area. Ensures that all castings are processed, stored and shipped to meet customer requirements.  Has the authority to reject any container of finished castings or to stop shipment of any casting.   Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to deal effectively with diverse groups of people. Knowledge of PC’s and related software. Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple tasks. Ability to supervise and instruct employees.   Working Conditions The Finishing Supervisor will reside in the office and on the production floor.  Must be able to adhere to conditions of the plant.   Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and on their feet 50% on the production floor. Must be able to move about inside the office and in the plant. This position will operate a computer and other machinery in the plant. Must be able to frequently communicate with employees and other individuals in person and telephone.   Education and Experience Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience supervising and/or directing employees.
