As a Welding Inspector at Metal Trades, Inc., you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in our welding processes. This role is vital to our commitment to delivering exceptional products and services in the metal fabrication industry.
Directs and coordinates activities involved with welder/fitters, visual testing inspectors and the production of customer demands throughout facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following for associates. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensures welding processes, procedural instructions, evaluations, inspection processes, etc. are held to customer and code requirements of all fabrication performed.
- Assists the Quality Manager with the implementation, interpretation, and maintaining Company quality assurance standards.
- Trains internal visual testing inspectors and fabrication employees in inspection procedures and processes.
- Maintains oversight of visual testing inspectors to ensure conformity to company and customer weld inspection programs and regulations.
- Provides Quality Manager and Factory Manager with status reports for internal control on quality issues concerning fabrication processes and procedures.
- Assist Company personnel in the determination of root cause for quality issues related to the welding process.
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

- Certified Welder Inspector
- Minimum five years knowledge of fabrication within the steel industry
- Three-year minimum experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Three years of quality system coordination or supervision in a manufacturing environment required
- Familiarity with ISO9000 required
- Three years of supervisory skills preferred
- Ability to maneuver up to 200 lbs. independently
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to read blue prints, tape measures, calipers, and micrometers
· Education: May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with at least two to five years of experience in the field or in a related area.
