Metal Treaters Inc. has the longest continuous ownership in the metal treating industry serving Minnesota and the Upper Midwest. Although MTI began as a tool & die heat treater, the company now offers full service capabilities that include: Vacuum Processing of the Tool Steels, Induction, Carburizing, and Neutral Hardening. MTI has broad range of customers. Customer satisfaction has been demonstrated by customer loyalty. MTI runs 4 delivery routes for pick-ups and drop-offs for our customers within the Twins cities and surrounding areas. Our drivers who run these delivery routes are a vital part of our continued service to our loyal customers.
Job Summary: Pick-up and deliver parts at customer locations along a pre-established route.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Locate orders that are completed and package according to job ticket for shipping.
- Prepare paperwork and route sheet for daily route.
- Package orders and load truck.
- Pick-up and deliver orders at customer locations, as required.
- Communicate with office by text or phone call for additional pick-ups.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and fill out report.
- Maintains a clean work area.
- Assists Supervisor in training functions as directed.
- Ensures security and proper use of company equipment, tooling, and supplies.
- Adheres to all safety standards and procedures, and maintains an ongoing awareness of safety for self and others in assigned work areas.
- Participates in company sponsored training as required.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
- Communicate with personnel at the hardness testers to verify if there are additional orders for them being checked before leaving.
Additional Responsibilities: Assist shipping personnel with phone calls and will call customers. Loading truck with a forklift. (Forklift Training provided).
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a clean driving record to be insurable.
- Must have a cell phone.
- Needs to be able to multitask and be organized.
- At least 1 year of Driving Experience required.
Working Conditions: Driving truck and factory environment may be exposed to dirt, grease, heat, cold and dust.
Physical Requirements:
- Must pass DOT exam.
- May need to lift up to 75 pounds periodically.
- Required to wear safety shoes/boots.
Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm, 37.5-40 hours weekly.
Driver Benefit: Drivers will be given a monthly $25 reimbursement for phone use.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
